Славянский клуб Калгари

«Славянский клуб» объединяет энтузиастов из разных уголков бывшего СССР, волею судьбы оказавшихся далеко от родной земли здесь, в Калгари, в Канаде. Воспоминания о детских и студенческих годах, утренниках, вечерах и капустниках, домашних праздниках и народных гуляниях, — другими словами, ностальгия по родному, по русскому, собрали нас вместе. Одна из целей клуба — не забыть, сохранить русский язык, культуру, традиции, а также передать их нашим детям. Мы — за единение с братьями-славянами и будем рады сотрудничеству с украинской, польской и другими общинами города Калгари.

Славянский клуб города Калгари был учрежден в 2007 г. как “Non-Profit” организация под официальным названием Slavyansky Cultural Club.

Клуб ставит своей задачей поддержание и развитие традиций, определяющих общность всех выходцев из бывшего СССР, в рамках единого культурного пространства. Деятельность Клуба регламенируется Уставом, а решением текущих вопросов занимается оргкомитет.

Во главе оргкомитета стоит идейный вдохновитель, душа и сердце Клуба — президент Мария Сумарокова-Wormington.

Хотя официальный стаж Клуба как зарегистрированной организации не велик, за его плечами немало добрых дел, список которых ведется с 2002 г.

Началом деятельности Клуба можно считать детский новогодний утренник, проведенный в январе 2003 г.

“About Slavyansky Club Calgary”

Slavyansky Club unites many enthusiasts from various parts of former USSR, who for different reasons ended up living far away from their native country, in Calgary Canada. Reminiscing about our youth, about our school and college years, parties, home performances and folk festivals, in other words, nostalgia for our native Russian culture — that’s what brought us together. One of the goals of the Club is to always remember and treasure Russian language, culture, traditions and transfer that to our children. We are all for uniting with our Slavic brothers and sisters, and will be happy to cooperate with Ukrainian, Polish and other communities in Calgary.

Slavyansky Club of Calgary was founded in 2007 as a Non-Profit Organization under the official name of Slavyansky Cultural Club.

Our Club has a mission of maintaining and developing traditions, that are native for all former USSR citizens. The Club operates under a Charter, and all of the day-to-day activities are being set up by the Organizational Committee.

The chair of Organizational Committee is Club’s heart and soul, President Maria Soumarokova Wormington.

Even though the official existence of the Club as a registered organization is not that long, it has an extended list of many wonderful activities from as early as 2002.

Slavyansky Club has started its creative and active live from the children’s Christmas festival in January of 2003.
